1. Agreement and operator
By using What Sells Next, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service
What Sells Next is for adult makers and Etsy sellers. It provides keyword research, Crossover product ideas, product discovery, Market Briefing, Competition Watch, listing and shop copy reviews, saved drafts and practical build guidance. An optional read-only Etsy connection supports a seller's own active listings. Etsy outcome tracking is not currently offered.
Visitors can use Check my idea up to 5 times per browser in a rolling 24-hour period without an account. A search and its follow-up review evidence count as one check; a failed initial search does not use a check. Check can distinguish physical and digital product markets where the wording permits. A signed-in free account also includes three starter new-product discovery searches in total, then one search per rolling seven days with no rollover, plus three crossover ideas per account in total. Unused starter credits do not expire. The first weekly discovery search returns seven days after the third starter search; it is not an additional immediate search. Existing successful free searches count towards these allowances. These are separate from daily idea checks. Failed generation and searches that return no usable product result do not spend those credits. Product discovery and crossover research focus on physical-product makers. Further discovery and crossover research, personalised Opportunity Radar, new build guides, planning replies and visual aids require Premium access. Etsy searches use the UK buyer view. Radar uses shared seasonal occasions; relevance varies by customer and country. Previously saved projects remain readable and exportable.
Premium includes 100 idea checks per rolling 24 hours and, per subscription month, 200 research runs shared across discovery, Crossover, Radar and extra Market Briefing reports; 100 planning actions shared across AI coaching, build guides and listing drafts; and 50 generated visuals. A run includes a batch of suggestions and its background market checks. Radar starts at most one new update per rolling 24 hours, automatically when you visit its page with a ready maker profile and available research allowance. Each update uses one research run and rechecks the oldest watched direction. A cancelled or unsuccessful attempt does not open another daily slot; a confirmed initial service failure may allow one retry of that same update. Radar does not start new research while you are away and sends no alerts. Monthly allowances do not roll over. Reading saved results and guides or recording progress uses no allowance. We show remaining allowances and reset dates; reaching a limit does not create an additional charge. Safety limits can temporarily pause new requests.
Free accounts include 5 keyword lookups per UTC calendar day; one phrase lookup includes its related results. Repeating a phrase that day and reading saved results use no extra lookup. Premium keyword research is unlimited for normal use, subject to fair-use safeguards. Missing search figures may need time to collect. Keyword research does not use the shared monthly research allowance.
Free accounts can watch one Etsy shop with manual refresh. Premium includes up to 50 watched shops with automatic updates. Listing copy checks and AI reviews of a verified connected shop are available to signed-in accounts; they do not use the monthly research or planning allowance. New AI listing drafts require Premium. Reviews cover text, not photos. Saved drafts remain accessible without Premium, and changes must be reviewed and copied into Etsy by the seller.
Current weekly Market Briefing market, category and shop views are included with Premium. Free visitors can explore a labelled illustrative demo. Reading included editions and reopening saved reports use no new research run; successful extra reports use one shared research run. Saved extra reports are retained for 60 days, including after Premium ends. Competition Watch and included weekly briefings do not consume the monthly research allowance.
The first-month Premium offer is £5 for your first subscription month, then £12 per month, including tax. The first-month discount applies to your first paid subscription only; it does not repeat after cancellation or rejoining. Your recurring £12 rate is retained through uninterrupted renewals. The standard rate outside the offer is £15 per month, including tax. If your subscription ends, rejoining is at the recurring price available then, confirmed before payment. Premium renews monthly until cancelled. Stripe shows your initial payment and subsequent billing details before purchase. You can cancel at any time through Manage or cancel subscription; cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current paid period and access continues until then. This does not limit any statutory cancellation or refund rights.
Local prices use configured Stripe prices and first-invoice discounts where available. Other currency conversions are labelled approximate and subscription estimates are rounded up to a whole currency unit. Stripe confirms the billing currency, first payment and recurring amount before payment. The retained rate is your recurring rate, not the discounted first-month amount; a display-only conversion does not set a billing amount.
3. Your responsibility
You decide whether to make, advertise, list or sell anything. Before acting, independently check:
- product safety, materials, dimensions, tools and manufacturing methods;
- intellectual-property rights, licences and permissions;
- Etsy's Creativity Standards, Prohibited Items Policy and other applicable rules;
- consumer, tax, product, labelling and trading laws that apply to you; and
- costs, prices, demand and commercial viability.
Do not use a generated guide as engineering, electrical, medical, legal, tax or other professional advice.
4. Marketplace evidence
Etsy does not publish competitors' exact listing sales. What Sells Next therefore uses bounded samples and signals such as comparable active listings, asking prices, favourites and listing-specific review activity. Counts may be incomplete, delayed, misclassified or affected by marketplace changes.
Wider active-listing figures are rounded extrapolations from screened results, not exact marketplace totals. Price summaries use same-currency samples; listing examples may retain their displayed seller currency. Statements labelled as inference or hypothesis are not observed facts. No idea, score, buyer-activity label, price band or build guide guarantees traffic, orders or profit.
5. Etsy connection
Connecting an Etsy shop is optional and uses Etsy's authorisation service. What Sells Next requests read-only access to identify your shop and read its active listings to build a maker profile. Optional sales-history access requires a separate read-only order permission. It is used for aggregate statistics for your own shop; buyer details are discarded. The service does not request messages, payment control or permission to publish or edit listings.
You must connect only an Etsy shop you are authorised to access. A free signed-in account is required so the permission has a verified owner. You can disconnect within What Sells Next; doing so deletes the stored authorisation tokens and imported listing summary linked to your account. You can also revoke access through Etsy.
6. Etsy relationship
Etsy is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. What Sells Next uses Etsy's API but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy.
This application is provided solely by Joe Stanley, trading as What Sells Next. Etsy and its affiliates do not develop or provide this service and make no warranties about it or Etsy data accessed through it.
Your Etsy account and use of Etsy remain governed by Etsy's own terms and policies. These Terms are between you and What Sells Next and create no obligation for Etsy.
7. AI-assisted outputs
Some product ideas, questions, plans, wording and visual aids are generated using artificial intelligence. AI can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsafe. Review every output against your real tools, materials, skill level and intended use.
Do not deliberately submit confidential third-party information, customer personal data, passwords, payment details or unlawful content.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- infringe copyright, trademarks, designs, privacy or other rights;
- create or promote unlawful, dangerous, deceptive or Etsy-prohibited items;
- scrape, overload, bypass, reverse engineer or interfere with the service, Etsy or any connected API;
- manipulate marketplace statistics, reviews, engagement or seller activity;
- obtain another seller's private information without authorisation; or
- represent What Sells Next as Etsy or as endorsed by Etsy.
9. Your inputs, projects and service ownership
You retain ownership of original material you submit. You give What Sells Next limited permission to process it as needed to operate, secure and improve the service and generate the outputs you request.
Profiles, saved build guides and project progress are saved automatically to your account and restored when you return. If changes cannot be saved, the site will ask you to retry before leaving. Unfinished planning remains only in the current page until a guide is saved. Valid, non-conflicting guest profile, project and Radar data from the same browser is copied into a verified account after sign-in; an existing account profile wins. A fallback browser copy remains until you clear browser data, and disagreeing browser copies are never auto-merged or deleted. Etsy credentials, subscriptions and usage allowances are never transferred this way.
What Sells Next's software, branding, interface and original service content remain the property of the operator or relevant licensors. Etsy member content remains owned by the relevant Etsy members.
10. Availability, changes and termination
We may change, suspend or remove features where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance or third-party API requirements. Access may be restricted for misuse or breach of these Terms.
If Etsy API access is unavailable, Etsy-powered functionality may be interrupted or removed. We will not present stale or unofficially obtained marketplace data as a current live result.
11. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to that, the service is supplied without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or commercially successful. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for indirect losses, lost profits, lost opportunities, loss of browser-stored data or losses caused by acting on an unverified recommendation.
12. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not remove mandatory rights you have under the law where you live.
